I formatted my HD few days ago, I installed all the drivers everything is fine.

Then I get to my Creative DVD drive, I try to install the drivers, but it says there is no such component. Even though it is listed in the Device Manager.

Without the drivers, my DVD drive goes so slow, it takes forever to transfer files from the DVD to HD, and it takes a long time before it will eject the CD.

Some help please.

I have a creative labs Ovation 12x Dvd rom. I did not have to install any kind of drivers for my dvd rom. Did the software come with your drive? What OS are you running?

When you go into Dev Mgr and see your Creative DVD - Click on your driver tab - and select update driver - search for a better driver - CD Rom Drive - Specify a location - Browse - point to your install CD Drive with the Creative Install CD in it - look for a "drivers" folder or a "Win9X" folder - click OK - Click Next - see if this helps

I'd use the default drivers that Windows installs. Go to Device Manager & remove the drive. Remove the drivers you have installed & restart the system. When it restarts, WIndows may prompt you for the installation CD & replace the drivers.

You can also try checking or replacing the ide cable and power supply to the drive. DO you have it running as a slve to the hard disk? If so, set the jumpers to make it a master drie & set it up on the secondary ide channel.

I tried updating the drivers but it says, there is no Hardware info from the drivers or something.
