Hi, Hi just got a v3-3500 card off of ebay... I know its old... I am going to be using this card, with a second system... I know that this card can be very particular with certian games...

Anyway please if a few people who USED the card in past, could help and answer a few questions, IT would help me out alot, thanks...

1. What is the VISUAL REALITY thing?

2. Does anyone have working ME and Win2k drivers??? or at least tell me what the file names are, It gets very confusing - because certain driver listings are not straight forward enough and plainly state - which OS, the driver is for... whew... So little help here clarifying would be great also...

3. I went to VOODOOFILES.COM and saw that there were a bit of users who were using it with XP, is anyone still using this card or has used this card in the past year or so, what has been your experience, with ME or W2k???

Again anyhelp here would be appreciated, by old Voodoo 3 3500 users, thanks

Dan

I'm on campus so I can't upload the files that you will need but I can point you in the right direction and upload them later. I have used my Voodoo3 3500 in Windows XP, 2k and 98SE. All have been very successful with TV out and TV tuning. Visual Reality is the software that 3dfx uses to view the picture off the TV Tuner so if you don't plan on viewing TV, you won't need to install this. When I get home I can upload the files that I've used (they're obviously 3rd party drivers so don't expect them to be easy to use). I hope this helps.

This should work for now.

🙂

That would be Great, I just happen to come back online and check....

If you can burn them for me that would be sweet.... Even tell me where they are is cool...

IF you burn them for me and send me the CD, I'll paypal ya... a few bucks... I don''t have much... but will come up with something....

I just appreciate the help and time spent....

I know sometimes i have to wait, but the forum always comes through in the
end... 😀

thanks, dan

Yeah, that link that I posted is probably your best bet. Those seem to be the same drivers that I use. You will probably have more luck getting the card to work under Me though (never thought I would say that). I had zero problems getting it to work on Windows 98SE although 2k and XP gave me some problems. Good luck with this.

i had no problem in XP with files i scarfed off the net.

Eventually got tv tuning to work except there was always static on the sound channels, especially on startup

I had a similar problem although I noticed that if I let the card heat up, the static went away. I thought that was a little odd.

i've got a 3000 in my old box, its the same, - the TV out.

it's still hanging in there, got drivers off net recently after reformat, i think from voodoofiles.

it's definately funny about what it will and wont play, (it's been about a year since i got new PC, and havent played games on the old one since) i know it worked better with onlder versions of direct x, but i dont remember which one was best. (6 maybe?)
