So I've got some health things going on and I got put on an inhaler. Problem is it feels like most of the mist is hitting my tongue or the roof of my mouth. In turn I'm not feeling any relief from the inhaler.

Here's what I currently do:

1) shake the hell out of the inhaler
2) breath in deep
3)exhale every bit of air I can
4) start to inhale
5) split second after I inhale, I spritz
6)finish my breath in
7) hold my breath for 10 seconds

Maybe my throat isn't opening wide enough? Maybe I don't know how to aim the thinger?

Please help. This really sucks

Haven't seen you in awhile. Sorry things aren't terrific. I never used an inhaler, but make sure you're breathing in with your lungs. Sounds obvious, but when I do that my tendency is to use mouth muscles too. Drop your tongue, and breathe in hard.

Just stick it in your mouth and suck. That's it. Not sure how you can mess that up. Ask a woman...HEYO.

they make a chamber to put between you and the inhaler, maybe you should have that device in there to get a good even charge and not "paint" your mouth with it.

I'm assuming this is for an albuterol MDI (i.e. proair, ventolin, etc.)

There's no reason to breath in too deep. Holding your breath for as long as you can is what allows the drug to deposit and absorb deep in your lungs.

1). Breathe in normally
2). After you finish exhaling, wrap lips around mouth-piece and spray the inhaler as your begin your new breath in.
3). Hold breath for as long as you can (10 seconds preferably)
4). Exhale AWAY from the inhaler (don't want moisture to build up on you mouth-piece)
5). Repeat if needed after a minute.

Maybe I don't know how to aim the thinger?

Also, your head shouldn't be at a 90 degree angle to your neck, you chin should be slightly tilted up (this is why the mouth-piece is designed slightly slanted down to the canister)
