I just installed a Scepter X22WG monitor, which has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050
I am using DVI between it and the Sapphire AGP X1300 256M video card. The
motherboard is nVidia NForce2 ultra 400 and the processor is Athlon 2300xp and I am
running Win XP II. The X1300 video card is supposed to support 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz
according to the Specs.
Here is my problem: When I try to run the video card at 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz, the display
is full of sparkleys ( blinking pixels) and other artifacts. The highest resolution that produces
a clean display is 1280 x 1024. Videos look pretty descent at that resolution but text looks
fat and fuzzy, as you would expect.
Edit: On a hunch I hooked up the VGA cable and now, everything works ok, I can set-up
on 1680 x 1050, 60 Hz and evrything is happy.
I would still rather use the DVI set-up, so my question is still, what is the problem, bad
Video card or monitor problems?
Suggestions , anyone??
