Need some help setting up a printer over a network

I have two computers in different rooms and I was trying to figure out how to set this up and so far I've had no luck. I just got cable internet with a d-link (DI-604) router and I'd like to be able to print from one computer to another. The printer is hooked up to a computer running Windows 98SE and the other computer is running Windows XP Pro. Can anyone tell me what I gotta do?

Thanks

On the computer that has the printer hooked up to it, make the printer shared. On the XP machine, add a new printer and make it so that if will find a printer on the network. If both computers are in the same workgroup, it makes things a little easier.

I ran the network setup wizard from the XP machine and made a setup disk and then ran it on the 98se machine. I clicked share this printer on both machines and put "printer" for the share name on both machines. I clciked on the printer on the XP machine and went to properties and then I clicked the general tab and where it says location it is empty...do I have to put something in there? Im not sure what to do next, still can't get this to work. What am I missing here? By the way, the workgroups are the same.

all u should need to do is share the printer on the 98 machine, on the xp machine go to add printer select network printer find the shared printer on 98 and clik add.

metier

make sure u have print sharing enabled on the 98 machine
