Need some help "resetting" my HT setup

Lately, it seems some of the BR movies we have watched sound muddled and lack any sort of punch or clarity. Star Trek was VERY hard to listen to dialogue but all of the sound effects were clear. Same thing with the Harry Potter movie, yet Ironman sounds fine as does a couple of others I tested out.

I went into the receiver setup and for some odd reason, all of my previous adjustments were now at default (I blame the wife, she blames the cat...). After trying to retweak everything, I'm still not happy with the sound.

System:
PS3
Onkyo 605
AV123 x-mtm Towers , XCS center, the the X bookshelf speakers for the rear output
HSU VTF-2 MK 3 Subwoofer
Sony KDS55A2020

PS3 is setup for PCM output to the receiver.
I have the front speakers at 80hz, center @120 and rears at 80 as well.
LFE is at 80 (?? trying to remember what I set it to last night)
In audio adjustments I let the Audessey take the care of equalizer issues for now.

I know it's hard for someone not sitting there to recommend adjustments without listening, but what else could I try?
Rearranging the room is a no-go, so that will be out of the question before anyone asks.

Did you check the obvious and make sure your center channel speaker is working?

Did you try watching Star Trek with a different audio choice (I.e. DD5.1 instead of of lossless) to see if it makes any difference?

Did you verify that your receiver's sound mode was set to "original" (maybe called "PCM Direct") and not something like 2 channel stereo, all channel stereo, mono etc?

I watched the same movie through my 605 the other day, but I was using bitstream for the HD audio feed. No issues at all.

After a move with my Onkyo 876, something was wrong with my receiver. I don't know what exactly, but it took a hard reset to fix the issue.

If sivart's suggestions don't produce any improvement / more information, then I'd recommend going to AVSforum and looking up the series of buttons that you have to press on the 605 to get it to do a factory reset and then start from scratch.

The center channel is working. I know that for sure. I'll check the rest once I am at home.
