Need some help reflashing the BIOS in a HPO DV 9000 Laptop

Long story short - Flashed the BIOS using latest Win BIOS updater from HP website. Message said "BIOS Updated successfully, press OK to reboot". That's the last thing I saw on the screen. Now all that happens is the media lights all light up and that's it. Nothing but a black screen. I've spent hours researching how to reflash from a USB drive but I feel like I've entered another dimension, lots of gibberish, guesses and dead in streets. Holding Win + B key does nothing even with USB HP_TOOLS usb drive installed (but I'm not sure it's configured right.

Any help greatly appreciated.

The first thing I do with laptops is pull the battery and unplug the power from it for about 20 minutes. See if that does anything.

Let it sit all night with the battery out and still no joy.

Given the lack of responses I'll assume no one have ever had this problem. 🙁

I've never had a single success using the HP corrupted flash recovery like they suggest with the USB flash drive and holding keys.

Only suggestions I can think of would be to acquire a donor motherboard and remove your BIOS chip and solder on one from the donor.

On the bright side your dv9000 survived way longer than 95% of them due to failing nVidia chips. That should make finding a non working board for parts cheap on eBay however.

Do you know that the chip is soldered in? Haven't had much luck with motherboards and soldering irons. 🙁
