Need some help on which CPU to buy for an old Foxconn Destroyer MB

OK, its been a few years since I've posted anything and I'm in need of some help. I'm trying to stretch out my old system a little longer since I don't do any heavy gaming anymore. I have a Foxconn Destroyer MB which is an AM2+ board. I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ processor and I want to upgrade the processor to the best thing available. So, what would that be?

Thanks for that info. Yeah, the board is pretty sweet that is why I'm trying to limp it along a while longer. Next is, what ram and video cards. I've got 2 old Geforce 9800GT video cards so I'm wanting to toss those and move on up too. I've just been out of the computing world for the last few years so I'm so not in tune with whats good and not good.

The X4 will run with DDR2 1066 ram, if you are using DDR2 800 with the Athlon X2, you'll want to upgrade.

Not gaming heavy? A gtx960 2gb card is what I'd get.

I think that foxconn website never got updated since they got out of the retail market.

The nForce 780A chipset is capable of supporting up to the big 140W Phenom ][ X6 1100T Thuban chips. At least the ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe is.
