hi, everybody, i am new to this board. i just thought there are many knowledgeable people who can help me out on this one.

i bought a EPoX EP-8KHA+ mobo a year ago, it was running great until two weeks ago. that day i booted up my machine as usual, but after the bios loaded up, before load into windows 2000, a blue screen appears. it says my bios is not compliant with ACPI. so i tried to reboot and the same message appeared again. i went into bios setting and under the device manager, i made sure that ACPI is enabled and i reboot again. the same thing happend.

next day i emailed EPoX tech support, the reply was that i probably didn't install windows 2000 with ACPI enabled so i need to reinstall windows. i was like, how can that be, i've using windows 2000 for a year and it never give me message like that. but he insisted so i format my harddrive and get ready to reinstall windows. however, half way through setup, the same message appeared again. and the next time i tried, it became some memory corruption. i am just totally confused and don't know what to do? i emailed EPoX tech support yet again but they just ignored me. please help me out, any advise or suggestion would be great.

here's my machine setup:

AMD Athlon XP 1500+
Crucial PC2100 DDR 512Meg
TNT 2 ultra(don't know the brand, i salvage it from my friend's comp)
IBM 40GB HD
on board audio

thx for reading my message!

I have the same problem with one of my boards.

I am about to switch the power supply out and see what that does. If that does not fix it it must be a Bad board. I am running XP Pro

But if you fix it or if anybody else has had this problem then give use a heads up.

Might be a clue there,I would try some different ram or test the ram you`ve installed,it`s possible it has gone faulty.Btw if you`ve two sticks of ram installed ,take one out and try installing again (with two sticks of ram installed it`s quite easy to find out if one is faulty).

If the ram is fine I would look at trying a different HD,IBM drives have not had great reliability over the last few years.

Unfortunately, it seems to be that some Crucial RAM is failing lately. There is another post a few down (earlier) from yours that reported the same (almost) problem and the culprit was the Crucial RAM. Start there by interchanging the sticks as was mentioned.
I am as suprised as anyone about the RAM though; I have used Crucial in countless systems with no trouble at all. I hope this is not a trend.
