need some help on my DVD drive

hello i need some help ... my dvd drives WILL not play any dvds at all from games to movies =( this sucks... my DVD-ROM drive is on Region 1.. i had the dvd rom drive for 2 years.. and i always used it to run regular cds not dvds.. i am fairly disappointed.. its a sony 16x / 52x i think.. PLEASE help me out.. the drive screw is stuck on the case.. i can forever turn it but it wont go no where so i cant yank it out to check the stuff =(

Buy a new DVD burner....you can get the LiteOn 8x model, and flash the firmware to get 16x Dual Layer capabilities.

f it will play CDs/burn CDs ..the laser has gone south but not gone to South America..yet
..and the stuck screw..take a small flatblade screwdriver place between
the case metal and the drive where the screw is ..
put tension on this point whilst using proper size Philips
screwdriver to remove said stuck/stripped screw..gl

i can play all CDs besides DVDs... =[
the reason i posted here is because i didnt want to spend another 30 bucks for a dvd drive

if i dont have dvd playback software where do i get it? i wanna run my farcry!!

Dude, you can get a new 16X DVD-ROM drive for like $25 or less...there are much more expensive parts of your computer that could have blown up. Count yourself lucky.

i dont want to spend 25 bucks on a dvd rom just to play farcry =P
and i need that money for my 9800pro "soon" ....
