Am buying a few parts for sister to build her a PC. I was gonna buy some parts new and used. But I thought hey I can get a nforce board since it pretty much has everything onboard including a Geforce 2 MX for some mild gaming. What I want to know is which to get and are they good boards? Or should I stay clear of them?

looked on newegg and it looks like this is a DDR board only. If so thats out of the question.

Yep, they're DDR only. I guess you better start looking for something else.

Well I think going DDR is a bit to much. Heck even a nforce would be to much. Only thing it will be used for is surfing, email and lite gaming(few racing games like NFS,Midtown,4x4 evo,ect at low resolutions like 800x600).

Well, I wonder if I've missed something- I didn't see any concern over the memory in the Original post.

I built one for a customer using the Asus A7N266E- very fast, very easy to setup, seems to be very reliable. A few "niggling" points- I don't like having all the IDE, Floppy, Power, etc all together in a 3" area- get's a little tight in there! Now, I haven't tried it myself- but if you go with one- go with 2 dimms- from what I understand you get better memory performance.
I consider it to be reasonably decent- much better than the typical KM-133, much cheaper than board, Video card, Audio, LAn cards all together

(Edit) DOOOOOH, I didn't catch that the 2nd post was from you Sniper! I don't know if I'd let memory hold me back. Question- any kind of budget? The system i built was right at $560, but also had some "goodies" included- also, the price has gone down a bit (at least on the Board & CPU)
