Scenario

We have about 100 computers on the network out of which two systems are in a particular workgroup. Now, I do not want anybody else to access the shares in these two computers strictly. How do I go about enforcing this rule?

Both computer have Windows XP SP2
File/Folder and Printer Sharing is Active

File/Folder and Printer Sharing has been enabled using practically networked's sharing guide. No problems here whatsoever.

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

The easiest way to do this would be to use NTFS file sharing instead of simple file sharing. That way you can assign permissions to the shares on those two computers only to the specific users that should have access to them, and deny permissions to everyone else.

Create a user account on the 'server' PC with the same user name and account that the person uses to log into their own computer then have them connect to the shares using that account.

Yep, with authenticating to AD you'll have to setup individual user accounts that match the accounts on the remote PC that is trying to get to the data. Nature of a workgroup LAN.
