Ok, I have spent the last hour or so, moving the damn thing back and forth. Sure, its losening up, but at the rate its going it will use the rest of my day. I need a quick effective way to get my heatsink off. My motherboard's out, and I am all ready to go. Should I just keep going? Try something else?

I just don't know. And I REALLY need to get it off before the day ends as I am gone all day tomorrow and I only have today to get this one off and the new one on. So, if anyone knows what I can do about this, please post what you have done to get a glued heatsink off.

BTW: Its a GA-7DXR Mobo.. I've found it's easier to turn back and forth with the fan on..

Thanks,
Sean

If you have a syringe or something similar you could put a little "Goop Off (Goof Off?") on it. That would loosen it but you don't want it running all over the board. Small amounts won't do any harm. I use it sometimes to clean the conductive paste off a cpu.
