For some reason I am not getting any sound out of my sound card. I got windows installed, but none of the hardware was detected. So I stuck in the Creative install cd and I did the autorun installation. It hung up at 60%. I turned off the computer and didn't do the auto run install. I did it the way the book said and I installed the driver. Then I rebooted. The card was recognized by the drivers, but there was no sound even though it looked like it would play. The book said after I installed the drivers I had to install the other SB apps. So I figured that might give me sound. I put the cd in and tried to install it again. However it hung at 60% again. I have tried a million times in two different drives, but it still hangs there. Each time it also gives me the message "uninstallition has failed. You may not be able to uninstall this program." It gives this message right at the beginning and in the middle. Do I need a new bios version or something. I think it said revision 1003.

I haven't tried any of that yet. I'm still at work. Do you think any of those could be the cause for the install program to hang up during installition though?

Ah. I've definitely run into this: hangs about midway through install. It's something to do with Coppermine processors and the older SBLive! drivers. Get the new drivers from www.sblive.com and it will fix it...
