Need some help for PC to TV stuff

Hi! I put a long post in general hardware, it got ignored and is now history 🙂. Im trying again here with a much shorter post.

I will be hooking up my new PC to my Entertainment center in a few months. I will prob buy a GeForce 6600 vid card and an audigy 2 for sound.

What is the Best way to hook up the video to my tv? I don't want to do just Videocard to TV. As I am sure that is not the best quality. I have a friend who was using S-video, but had some sort of converter box that made the signal look soooo much nicer then just normal PC to TV.

Oh my TV is a 27" Sony WEGA

I am assuming the Audigy sound card is easy to hook up to an entertainment center? I have a Sony reciever that has Optical ports for sound. And Component.

This is not a HTPC. I will be using it for gaming a lot. Will also have lots of friends over to watch movies and stuff.

I get decent results using S-video and composite audio out with my setup. Thats with a 35" Tv and sony 5.1 system. The resolution on a regular tv is so low it doesnt really matter what kind of connection you use in my experiences as its only acceptable for gaming and watching movies.
