Hey all,

So, ever since I purchased my setup (purchased most of it around the same time), Ive been having trouble with horizontal tearing when viewing HD content. Heres my current setup:

Receiver: Pioneer Elite VSX-91TXH

PS3 and HD-A35 going HDMI into receiver
Tivo going Component into receiver

Receiver going HDMI out into a 47" Westinghouse 1080p lcd (the older version, i cant remember the model of it anymore).

The tearing mainly appears when the camera is panning at a slow to medium speed. It tends to happen at different points on the screen depending on content, but stays static throughout a program. For example the Office in HD might have tearing on the top 1/3 of the screen, and then 300 in HD might have it on the lower 1/3. But it will always be at the same spot for the duration of the program.

The tearing has happened on all 3 HD devices, so im kinda ruling that out. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with a 24hz option or something along those lines, but i cant find anything.

Oh, it doesnt happen all the time (meaning on every program, but then again it could be happening but just on the edge of the screen where i dont notice it).

I would think it would have to be a part of the receiver or the TV...or maybe the cables but i doubt that.

Any ideas?

Thanks all

Did you try taking the receiver out of the picture, and just hook the PS3 or the HD-A35 directly into the HDMI input on the TV that you have the receiver going into?

😀 I've been there. Sometimes it's hard to think when you're pissed off.
