Need some help deciding how much power I need...

I'm currently planning to build a PC with an i5-4670k, an R9 280X, 8GB DDR3 1600, and a 256GB SSD. I want to OC both the CPU and GPU, but I'm not sure how much power I'm going to need to do it. Some of the R9 280X recommendations I've seen are 750W, but that seems a little extreme. Anyone have an idea of how much power I'll need? Thanks!

Give yourself 500W. Obviously you will need a decent quality PSU with modern topology.

One of AnandTech's reviews noted under 500W draw from the wall for an entire system while fully loaded.

If you go Crossfire, you will probably need 800-850W.

If you will be going crazy on the overclocking (liquid cooling, chasing benchmarks and fame) then ramp up wattage accordingly.

Thank you! I won't be going overboard with the OC. My target is a stable every day OC I can maintain safely on air cooling.

What do you think of this PSU(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16817151095)? I could get something $10-$20 cheaper that's 500W+, but this one is modular and I've heard Seasonic is a trustworthy brand.

I had the MI520 in a previous build. It is a very good PSU. You will do well with the 620, but even though I highly recommend Seasonic, Corsair, and Enermax to name a few...I personally would advise you on a new build to go ahead and get the best power supply you can. Paying $30 more or so over the span of 5 years is a negligible investment.

So, for that card, I would really say get the G750 from Seasonic:
