I am in need of a NIC that can tolerate a 42mhz PCI bus speed. I am looking @ the 3Com Server NIC because it is PCI 2.2 compliant (66mhz). I am also looking @ the Intel Pro with 168bit Encryption built in. Now both of these are considerably more expensive than your run of the mill NIC's and I want to make sure I make the right decision before dropping ~$45 on a NIC. The 3Com does not have the onboard encryption, but it does have a lifetime warranty. The Intel has the encryption, but it only has a 1 year warranty. What do you guys think? Also, do you think both of these should be OK @ high PCI bus speeds?
