Granted I'm a gamer, I rarely game on laptops because its just not comfortable but on work trips I can't live without entertainment on planes.

So my main need was something I could use to transport data, take some movies along, ability to surf and something that won't overheat in hot ambient temperatures since I do travel abroad a lot.

Which one of the 2 do you suggest?

1. Toshiba http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...y=#ReviewStart

2. Sony http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...579&CatId=4937

Any suggestions? I'm kind of leaning towards toshiba since battery life would be better but sony is awfully tempting too.

I would go with the Toshiba because it has the new style of Desktop like keyboard.

Do you really need a Core i3/i5? If not, a CULV like the ASUS UL50Vt will give you really nice battery life for those intl. flights. The ASUS has an NVidia G210M, so it'll have no problems decoding whatever movies you want to throw at it. ASUS advertises 11.5 hours of battery life which is quite a bit more than the other two.
