Birthday is coming up on Saturday and I'm looking to take a drive for dinner this year. The stuff around home is getting boring.... was thinking Albany or Poughkeepsie, NY. Anyone from around either city? Anything <$50 an entree is acceptable 😛 It also doesn't matter what type of food it is... just good. 😀
 
You an also try the The Pump Station, a brewery/restaurant. The food is decent, cheaper than Jack's, but they aren't known for their food, instead the house beers. Located in downtown Albany just like Jack's.

Unless you make reservations quite a while in advance, you won't get a table (and they're in Hyde Park, just north of Poughkeepsie).

Otherwise, there's mostly just chain restaurants in Poughkeepsie area. Nothing too wonderful. Out in Stormville there's Harralds which was rated 4 diamonds by AAA but I think they're closed for renovations.

Yeah, it sucks to live around here. Try Albany, not too sure about what's up there, but it has to be better than Bugaboo Creek/Outback/Olive Garden/you-fill-in-the-name-of-chain-restaurant-here.

If you're driving up to Saratoga, hit Sperry's, 43 Phila, Hattie's (best Cajun food outside of Louisiana that I've ever had), One Caroline, or Lanci's (amazing Italian food). The Weather Vane is alright, but won't compare to any of the above.
