Why may I ask do you specify "dark"?

Most of the dark rums are just them adding caramel color ...

Not sure if it's Jamaican, but Mount Gay is awesome.

its from barbados, and i dont know.i bought mount gay eclipse but i think i like darker rums better, just seems like there wasnt enough rum flavor when i mixed it with stuff

thats some pretty specific requirements. sounds like you would like Myer's Dark. probably ~$25/750mL

appleton is another popular jamaican brand, they make a dark too probably in comparable price range

I failed to notice you wanted Jamaican rum.

but seriously, try the Extra Old. It's dark and so smooth you can drink it straight. I like it better than Appleton Estate Extra Old 12 years.

What do you typically mix it with? It's not a dark rum, but Appleton and grapefruit soda is delicious, and pretty common in Jamaica (although good luck finding Ting, the Jamaican grapefruit soda, anywhere stateside; you can use Squirt in a pinch). You can use either Appleton white or gold; the white will be sweeter, the gold will have more of a woody aftertaste. Both are good. If you want to go full-on Jamaican, find a bottle of overproof Wray & Nephew and mix it with Ting, although that will put hair in places you didn't know you had.

ive actually been lookin for wray and nephew overproof.cant seem to find it but in terms of mixing i usually just either mix it with coca cola or orange juice(its actually orange peach mango that Dole makes but i like it better then regular orange juice and it tastes good mixed with rum)
