All my games were jacked when people broke into my parents house (I don't bring any games with my to school.. since I'll play them instead of study).

Long story short, the insurance company gives us a gift certificate to EB to replace all of our games.

Now, I haven't played alot of video games for a while.. so I'm not really sure what to buy.

I love call of duty but I'm going to get that for xbox 360.

I'm a CS fan, I also play alot of starcraft and I'd really like a flight sim game so recommendations for that would be awesome.

Any FPS games or anything.. basically I'm pretty open minded, but I'd only like to buy the best.

I think you'll get wildy different opinions on what's "best". What I'd do is replace any games you had stolen, IF you liked them. After that, go download a crapload of game demos and you can get some good ideas for games that way.

As far as my own recommendations, the only game that's really wowed me to the point that I think everyone should have it, is Oblivion. Of course, there are a few necessary mods to make it shine and then you're golden!

LOL! I'm sorry if I'm being rude but I find that kinda funny!

Anyways, exactly *how much* did they give you? Its consoles and the PC have great games but it costs a lot of dough!

My budget is around 600 bucks, it's an insurance claim.

They gave us that much in a gift certificate.

If you liked startcraft you'll probably like Company of Heroes or Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.

Dark Crusade is an expansion for DoW, but it can be played without owning the original.

All in all I'd say CoH is the better game and has much better graphics, but it's set in WW2 which many people find to be a turn off.

Buy a DS Lite... gaming on the go + wifi multiplay FTW!

I should note that all my recommendations are based mostly off Single-Player campaigns. I've never really had a decent internet connection to play games online, other than MMOs, so keep that in mind:

FPS: Half-Life 2 if you haven't played it, I'm playing through it now, and am enjoying it a lot. They have some expansions out on it which I haven't gotten to yet. There's also FEAR, which was pretty fun!

RTS: Supreme Commander came out not too long ago, and is supposed to be, from what I understand, quite good. There is a big thread in this forum you might want to check out. I haven't played it yet, so I can't recommend it personally, just from what I've read online. I think it's made by the same people that did Total Annihilation - great game that was.

Also, Command & Conquer 3 is getting ready to come out, so if you like the C&C universe (like I do) you might want to pick that up. There is a demo out, but it's quite large (over 1g) so I decided not to try it.

Flight Sim: Can't help you on the flight sim, I don't play those.

Xbox 360: Gears of War!!!! Viva Pinata is a lot of fun too.

I think a ds lite is a great choice as well, but you may not be into it :p

Not sure what you had or what you like, but here's my recommendations:

FPS:
Battlefield 2
Half-Life 2 Silver Pack (HL2, DoD: S, CS: S, etc)
Rainbow Six: Vegas

RTS:
Age of Empires III
Command and Conquer 3 (not out yet but the demo is, it's quite good)
Company of Heroes

RPG:
Jade Empire (I haven't played the PC version but the Xbox one is great)

Thanks douchebag.

They came into my room, and my brothers room.

My PS2 was packed up and ready to go, they cleaned out my brothers two shelves of video games.

Between the 7 video game systems in our house (NES, SNES, N64, XBOX, Gamecube, PS2).. 600 dollars in games isn't alot of games.

Ass. Frankly, I can't remember all of the games we had, otherwise I'm sure it would be closer to the 2,000 dollar area, maybe even 2500.
