guys Im building/ rebuilding a computer... pretty much the only thing im keeping is the old HD and case.. I got the following things ywesterday night from newegg

CPU AMD|A54 X2 5000+ 2.6G AM2 65N R - Retail

MB BIOSTAR TForce TF7050-M2 AM2 - Retail

Now I am looking for RAM.... how does this look?

http://shop2.outpost.com/produ...Lt7T7lKdHzoyP84FOamyoQ**.node3?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Any good??

PS: the computer will be used as a DVR for storing DVDs from netflix (until i get time to watch them) and a dedicated machine for magicjack some web browsing and maybe some hardcore excel / access stuff

Nothing wrong with that ram really - doesn't look like you're going for overclocking potential but IMO personally I'd look else where than Fry's/Outpost on MIR pricing - I don't wanna be the anti-rebate guy but there are other comparable deals for similar products - one thing I do like is the supposed T1 support on the memory which should allow slightly better performance on your AM2 platform

check to make sure your mobo has at least minor RAM voltage adjustments - at least 1.8v to 2.0v as I'm pretty sure that memory is rated to need 1.9v

another option could be http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820211165 - 42 bucks with free shipping but no rebates

if you don't mind the rebate go for the Corsair and I'm sure you'll be happy

thanks
