Need some demigod strats

I was never big into Dota though I played a lot of maps like it (rival nations mostly). I got demigod yesterday thanks to tidusz and the half off code. I've been losing in multiplayer and hoping to get some viable strats for all the heroes. I beat the normal single player tournament playing rook. I'd grab the +11 mana/sec helm so I could constantly drop towers and focus my skills on towers, shoulder upgrade and stat upgrades (mostly to keep my hero tough). I'd spend most of my gold on upgrading the town to help with the push (does upgrading city towers affect the rooks towers too?). Hasn't worked as well in multiplayer though.

Kill, kill and more kill.

I haven't played multiplayer, but I did notice yesterday at one point the torch bearer is pretty insane in fire mode, especially once you pump fireball up all the way. Rook is pretty damn good too, very durable, and great for taking down enemy defenses (the structure drain thing is awesome).

Don't feed. How many times are you dieing a game? The AI is completely retarded, so playing against them will not give you an accurate gauge of how good you are.

Don't worry about towers early in the game. I'd much rather get a few early kills or raising war score than spend the first 6 minutes taking down one tower. You should probably get boulder roll instead of stat upgrades, it can be useful for saving a teammate or escaping yourself. IMO, tower rooks are pretty mediocre, so you should definitely try the other classes.

I like the torch bearer in ice mode - the area attacks can rack up multiple kills pretty fast.
