my counselors at my school are totally useless. i'm going into grade 11 next year and my time table is packed full. i really want to take auto shop because of my love of learning about cars, but the only course i could drop would be Chemistry. i want to go into either some kind of systems/network admin stuff later on, or get a bachelors in computer science then work from there. i am still taking physics, but i don't know if i should drop chemistry for auto shop. any advice is appreciated :)

Ontario universities won't ask for Chem as a requirement to enter Computer Science. They'll want English, Physics, Calculus and Algebra (all OAC-level).

Nothing in chem is helpful in comp. sci. later on, so instead maybe look at an electronics course (*extremely* helpful for your microprocessor and logic courses) and take those. Auto shop is 'fun' but pretty useless in the whole scheme of things.

i'm taking two computer courses, Computer Engineering(CCNA certification course) and Computer Information Scince(programming). the problem is the universities haven't set what they want, because i'm in the new curriculum with no OAC year(i'm in the guinnea pig class :disgust:) so they have still yet to set firm acceptance/it's hard to find out for a lot of universities. the guidance people are clueless as to what to tell me :(
