Need some cooling tips

Going to try to cliff note this, basically because I feel it's easier to read and such.

I have a Lian Li PC-65 case which has 4x80mm fans

There's 2x80mm duel front intake, 1x80mm exhaust and 1x80mm blowhole

Have an XP-90 heatsink, so room near the exhaust is limited

Have a sleeved PSU and have the entire case wired so it doesn't effect airflow in the slightest

Overall a quiet system- which I like

Getting 43C idle while OC'd my 3500+ to 2.3GHz

I want to OC to 2.4/2.5GHz, this chip has ran stable at 2.5GHz in a better cooling type of case.

I want to keep using this Lian Li because I like the looks of it, very clean cut, very smooth.

Had these two ideas, in no particular order...
1. Buy a pre-modded side panel that has 2x80mm fan slots cut into the plexiglass for $65 w/o fans.
2. Find some case fans that can move more air.

Any other suggestions or comments on which idea to take? Money is tight, but I could maybe swing for that side panel if it would help with temps.

Reseat your HS. Clean it and reapply AS5 or 3

Dust out your case and do wire manangement. I sat for an hour and did this and my cpu temps dropped by 5 degrees and the case temp went down by 3 degrees.

it seems as though yoou already have plenty if airflow inside the case. what fan are you using for your cpu? consider increasing the rpm on that fan so you can have a cooler cpu, however, you will have to sacrafice a little sound.

In the BIOS I have it set to when it reaches 51C the fan speed will speed up, anyone know if the case fans that come with a Lian Li case are decent?

Sorry my eyes are not with me. The side panel idea is quite good, if the ambient temperature is not too hot.

I have a side panel fan and at a case temp of around 27 degrees, my idle cpu is around 45 degrees celcius. My rig is o/c to 2.25. If you get a side panel fan, obviously try to get it as close to the HSF as possible.

Tell us what your case temp is, that'll be a good indicator of whether you should do the above. Idle temp on a Winnie should only be a few degrees C above case temp.

Off hand, I'd say positioning is your problem, you don't need any more fans. First off, cut out hte stamped grills in the front and back of the case. Specifically the ones in the front are restricting at least 50% of your airflow, and that's the main problem. What type of fan are you using on your XP-90 and what thermal grease? Clean off whatever you ahve with 91% isoprophyl alcohol (found at your local CVS, etc.) and put on a small amout of thermal grease in the center (follow the instructions on www.arcticsilver.com). For a fan, I recommend these panaflows , as they are very quiet for the amount of air they push. Putting in side case fans won't help as it will ruin the wind tunnel effect that you have now. You just need to open things up to allow more air to go through :thumb:.
P.S. making a duct for your CPU greatly brings down temps also: here's mine

Cpu duct can help a lot, also try turning off the front fans & check temps. Somtimes they disturb good airflow and can actually makes temps higher. I think running a slight vacuum works best

I have a CPU duct on a P4 3.2E, and my temps are 36C idle and 46C load.

I have a 80mm panaflow M1 on the CPU duct intake, a 7000 AlCu, and 92 panaflow on the front intake. (The case has a 120 out the back)

I like the panaflows. The PSU fan makes more noise.
