Alright, heres my situation. I am going into my last year at a Community College. I am majoring in Comp. Network Tech. In the spring of 2003 I will have my AS in it. This is NOT a transfer program, and I have already found out, that since this is such a specialized degree, I will not be able to transfer any core credits. SO, I am dying to go to a 4-year university, but can't decide if I want to dedicate another 4 years to school. On one hand, I dont want to miss out on the college life, yet on the other hand, I want to find a decent job right after my AS, and move out of my parents house. I am 19, and if I decided to go to a university, I would be 20 going in. Do you guys think this is to old to get in on the College life? What are your thoughts and opinions? Have you been in a situation like this?

Thanks guys

Have not been in your position but I'd say 20 is not too old to start college.

College life is great and the degree can't hurt

I know some people who didn't even graduate high school until they were 20, then started college. 20 is not old, it idefintely isn't to old to begin attending a 4 year school. Are you sure your core classes won't transfer? It'd be stupid if you have already taken history and they make you take it again. Figure out where you want to go, then go talk to an advisor in that department. Anyway, 20 is definitely not to old to go to a 4 year school school. I know people who are in their 30's, 40's, even 50's who are still in school. I say go for it.

Not too old - go for it!
People most likely won't even notice. When I was a freshman I lived with a couple of 20ers. Didnt even know it at first, but definitely came in handy when they turned 21 during the year :)

Heh, don't worry. If you're in an engineering major there's good chance you won't finish in 4 yrs anyway... Many people do co-ops so they end up staying in school for 5-6 yrs and such... Trust me... No one gives a damn how old you are.

You'll be fine......you have to remember that not everyone is 18 or 19 when they enter.....some people are just older than others, in their same academic year. For instance, I was 18 when I went in, but my friend was already 19......you're only 1 year older than that.

No one will care, you'll be fine. :)

The whole experience of living on your own in the college atmosphere is all worth it. Age isn't a factor when you get into a big university.. Lots of freshmen chill with seniors and vice versa. There's usually lots of stuff to do. If you like drama.. then check out some of the greek organizations.

I came into college at 17.. still felt like a kid especialy since I looked like one. Asian guys don't really look older than their age like most other guys. But it was cool. You just gotta know what you want..

He is correct in that.

So is the guy telling you the young girls will be all over you.

Remeber.. you get the most action your first semester at college. Don't let it pass you up.

But no, 20 is not too old. When I was a freshman there was a guy in the dorm who was 22. And I knew some seniors in a frat who just graduated who were 24+.. came back for a second degree.

I agree with everyone else. 20 is definitely not too old to start college. If you want to go to a 4-year school, then I say go for it.
