I'm getting all stressed out and i need some classical to listen to to help me relax. Right now i'm listening to Air on the G String by Bach, i want something of that nature(soft and slow) but NO opera. I've also been listening to Otis Reading - SItting on the Dock of the Bay, but i find i start singing the lyrics as opposed to doing my work, so i want to stick to classical. any recommendations would be helpful 🙂

Gustav Holts - The Planets gets my vote

Wagner is also pretty good, get the orchestral versions without the singing.

Bach - Brandenbug Concertos
Sharon Isbin (or Andres Segovia, both fantastic guitarists) - Bach works for lute
Vivaldi - Four Seasons

man, there's so much to pick from, all of the big names...some good beginning pieces have to be Tchaik's Piano Concerto No. 1...Night on Bald Mountain (or anything by Mussorgsky), Hungarian Dance no. 2 by Liszt...

Do a search for "best classical songs" or something, find some good lists to work with.

Why are you stressed out? Don't you wznt to deal with the disease rather than the symptoms?

i have a rather large amount of things to accomplish in a short amount of time, which is on top of the usual(money, school, work, relationships) and it has just not made this weekend go very well. Listening to relaxing music has helped me to think so i can accomplish my tasks

"California Dreaming" by the Mamas and the Papas cheers me up when I'm sitting in a bunker with artillery shells going off all around me and I'm surrounded by the enemy with no way out.

That's just me, though.

LOL, people are suggesting things like Liszt's 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody, or Holst's Planets. He's trying to relax guys, not have a heart attack. 😉
