Hey all,

My bro is graduating from college this spring and I want to get him a digital camera as a present.

I believe he likes the Canon A95. I personally think its a little big but his foremost concern is image quality. Its more or less going to be used for point & shoot.

I know from dpreview it has some purple fringing. What would be good alternatives to the Canon A95? Based on Dell's usual deals I can get it for $255 with free shipping...

Also if I were to settle on that who makes a good set of rechargeable batteries for cameras?

Did someone say rechargable batteries?

It appears to me as if you're concerned about quality.

The most important thing when it comes to rechargable batteries is the battery charger. It is responsible for both how long your batteries last, and how fully they charge.

Look no further.

Read this, too.

Nice thanks.

Are recharable batteries a pet hobby? Or is that your web store?

Or are you a serious amateur photographer?

*bump* for camera suggestions

LOL..

Nah, I just did some research before I bought batteries for my camera.

I'd like to consider myself a serious amateur photographer, yeah.

Me and my Canon A60.. rawr.

;)

Just FYI, I get 350 - 500 pictures per charge depending on flash use with my A60 and a set of fully charged Powerex 2200mAh batteries.

If an A series camera is what he's looking for, I don't think you can really go wrong with any of them. I don't know of particular model issues, such as the purple fringing you speak of. How about an A85 or something similar? He can use the money saved on a bigger CF card and a camera bag, etc.
