I need some burning software. Mainly, music or data CD's and occasionally putting a DVD together from AVI/WMV/MPG/etc files.

I've used Nero for years, but it's been getting pretty bloated and I don't know if I want to spend $70 on Nero 10.

I like InfraRecorder.

I don't burn a ton anymore, but it is pretty nice.

I recommend ImgBurn for music and data. It's free, light weight, fast and easy to use.

I don't burn movies, so I can't recommend anything on that front.

I use infrarecorder and imgburn. A burner's a burner. Pick one that has an interface you like. I'd never pay for burning software.

Ashampoo Burning Studio. Used it for several versions now, and I'm always happy with it.

How many times are you going to answer this question (with gibberish)?

OP: I stopped using Roxio and Nero long ago due to the bloated programs. I use CDburnerXP for CD's, DVDFab for DVDs and ConvertXToDVD for converting. Those are what I use to cover the bases.

Yea, it does everything, but I typically use Infrarecorder for data. Not sure why, habit I guess.

I'd never pay for burning software either, but I at least want the software to be able to convert any audio files I throw into it and also handle the settings for creating an audio CD

Nero was one of the first/best at this, although I've long since been using CDBurnerXP for such things.

Although once I upgrade my car stereo audio CDs will likely become completely obsolete for me.

I was actually wondering what software to use to burn movie DVDs and I have to say that ImgBurn is excellent. Thanks to everyone for their input in this thread.

which one allows the best DL break control when burning iso/img/etc?
(break = at what sector will the disk flip to the 2nd layer.. etc)
