Need some Algebra help - Quick!

Ok i am trying to work out some problems, and I need some help. Frankly i suck at math..i see it and then i go completely blank.

A few pre-requisites:

A. YES, I would like answers to these questions.
B. NO i do not just want the answers..i would like some step by step help if anyone is up to it, I am trying to understand what I am doing.

So here are the problems:

1. Which of the numbers -2, -sqrt(2), -(1/3), 0, 0.8, sqrt(3), ?(Pi) are rational numbers?
2. Evaluate (show work!). ((-2)^2 - 6)/(7 - 9)
3. Evaluate (show work!). |-4| + 4 * (6 - 8)
4. Evaluate (show work!). 6 / (-2)
5. Evaluate (show work!). 6 / (-1/2)
6. Identify the property that justifies the following equation. 4 + (3 + x) = (4 + 3) + x
7. Simplify the follow expression (show work!). 3 * y + 9
8. Simplify the follow expression (show work!). 2 * x * (3 * x - 2) - (2 * x^2 + 4)
9. Evaluate the follow expression with a = -2, b = 3, and c = 4
2a ? 4b + 2c^2
10. Determine if the following equation is true if x = 4. 2 *(2 * x - 3) = 10

why dont you try to do some and we'll correct/add to the answers. cuz like this you are gonna get flamed

What grade are you in? This stuff is so easy I feel kinda dumb doing them. No offense, I'm just really good at math, albeit I absolutely hate it

A rational number is anything that can be written in a fraction, so -2/1, -1/3, 0/1, 4/5 are all rational (thus sqrt of 2 and 3, and pi are not)
2. Evaluate (show work!). ((-2)^2 - 6)/(7 - 9)
(answer is 1, i think)Just work through the parenthesis, doing the (-2)^2 first and the division by 7-9 last

these are easy, basic math functions
3. Evaluate (show work!). |-4| + 4 * (6 - 8)
(answer is -4)
4. Evaluate (show work!). 6 / (-2)
(-3)
5. Evaluate (show work!). 6 / (-1/2)
(-12)
6. Identify the property that justifies the following equation. 4 + (3 + x) = (4 + 3) + x
transitive property? i dont rembmer exactly
7. Simplify the follow expression (show work!). 3 * y + 9

8. Simplify the follow expression (show work!). 2 * x * (3 * x - 2) - (2 * x^2 + 4)

9. Evaluate the follow expression with a = -2, b = 3, and c = 4
2a ? 4b + 2c^2
answer is 16, i think
10. Determine if the following equation is true if x = 4. 2 *(2 * x - 3) = 10
if you get an answer for x that looks good, its true

2-5, there's one thing you need to remember.

Please Exhume My Dead Aunt Sally

P: Parenthases
E: Exponents
M: Multiplication
D: Division
A: Addition
S: Subtraction

Thats the order you preform operations in.

Remember a negative number squared is a positive number. Cubed, its' a negative number again, to the fourth power, it's positive (see the trend here?)

That being said, the answers for 2-5 are -1, -4, -3, -12. You're on your own for work

seriously you need to learn how to do this crap yourself, this is BASIC math that anybody should be able to do at the drop of a hat. Use a book and figure stuff out yourself, you'll retain a lot better.

look through your examples in the book. those are bound to help since your problems are pretty basic

Aye aye! I am taking AP calculus, I am good. But it's summer, and I don't use my brain. I thought I already explained this? :D

I was going to help.... But then I noticed how easey those questions are. I mean those are like the easiest possible questions you can ask us to solve for you. Honestly it would have been easier to just do it you self than to type em out.
