Hello All,

This is my first post to the forums, and though I've spent many years with computers, I am about to embark on my first computer assembly.

I am wanting to use a Thermaltake Lanbox for my new system and I'm wanting to know:
A) Will a Radeon 4850 fit in the case (is the 4850 bigger than the 8800GT?)
B) Will the card be too hot running at stock specs?
C) How much will the brand matter when it comes to picking the card?

Also, if anyone wants to give me a rundown of any problems with or suggestions for the following system, that would be great.

Thermaltake Lanbox
GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L
Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W ATX Power Supply 115/ 230 V
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
Pioneer Black 20X DVD+R

Thanks!

The lanbox looks very similar to my Microfly case, it actually seems a little longer. My 7800GTX fits in the case with about 5 inches to spare so I am sure a 4850 will fit in that case. I am not sure about question number 2, but question number 3, I would go for either VisionTek or Built by ATI.

Welcome to the forums!

I think these single slot (are they real single slot?) cards are supposed to be sorta low heat compared to other top end/midrange cards.
