Need some advice with video card dilemma

I currently have a gf3 ti200 w/ p4 2.4ghz. I am contemplating purchasing a 9600 pro for around $150. Should I do the upgrade or wait for the 9700 or 9800 to come down in price. I really don't want to spend more then $175 or so for a card. I use my rig for gaming, War III, Generals, BF1942 and the like.

Is your gf3 holding you back now? If you can wait a few months the 9800 np will get cheaper, though nowhere near $175. On the gripping hand, you can buy the 9600 now and sell your gf3 for $50 shipped in FS/FT making your total cost around $110, then hold on to the 9600 for a year until the next generation is out.

By then nvidia could even be making good cards again and might take all the (expletive) cheats out of their drivers :| 🙁
