Need some advice setting up HTTP tunnel

lozina

Lifer
I would like to set up an HTTP tunnel so that I can connect to my home PC with remote desktop and view blocked web sites from within my office PC.

Not sure if they can but it would be nice if it used HTTPS too

I have poor knowledge on this kind fo stuff so I was hoping to get some advice from someone who has already gone through this and can suggest good software and the basics on how to set it up.

i remember trying this a year ago to do the same thing and gave up. u have to get IIS running and it gets messy with the certs to do https. here is directions if u want to try, Click. I think you are better off use logmein free version. our company uses http proxy to access internet sites, and all of the above failed for me. i ended up using WOL + VNC thur proxy to access my home computer. btw, I am in the IT staff, but you should be careful about all these.

I use hamachi for the vpn/tunnel, and privoxy for the http/https proxy. Although, privoxy does fuck up sometimes, for the most part it works well.
