My wife has a gateway NV77h05u laptop.
Recently I have had to plug the cord to the a/c adapter that lead to the computer into different wall sockets to get it to charge her computer.

her computer is going on 4 years old.....

What do you all think...the battery?
or replace the AC Adapter Power Supply & Cord ?

or both??

It is charging as we speak but I had to plug the a/c adapter into several wall sockets....

First, I would suspect the wall socket. Could it be connected to a wall switch? I have had that experience. Is the wall socket that works consistent? It could also be a loose wire connection in the charger's power cord. Can that be changed?
