I just got informed by my insurance company that after the apraisal on my car it's worth "A LOT" (their words) more than they had thought before. Anyways, they decided that they will pay to have it fixed, rather than total it.
They are however writing me a check to have it done, which means I can get it done wherever.
I was thinking of using the Fiberwerks front bumper, as that will save me from buying the $1185 factory one.
I have no problems letting their reccomended place do the bodywork, but should I let them paint it, or would it be better to have someone else do it. The place the insurance company reccomended (and where I got the estimate) is the body shop of one of those mass-dealerships (Dodge, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mitsubishi), although it's at the Dodge dealership specifically. Everyone I talked with there was very nice, and the guy who will be doing the work drives a 951 that looks awesome. They even offered to fix a few minor flaws for free (i.e. stone chips, buff out area where it was keyed before ect.)
Is their any special work that needs to be done to have the galvanized body panels painted?
What needs to be painted is:
Fiberwerks fiberglass front valence/bumper
Front Fender (drivers side - being replaced w/ factory part)
Rear Quarter (drivers side - after they pull out a dent)
Nose panel (they will have to straighten the edge under the headlight)
Headlight cover (it got a little scratched)
Anyways, the rest of the body looks great, and I would like for this to look great as well...any tips/suggestions to make it look better? I'm ordering a new hood badge right now and will probably order the body kit tomarrow.
Check my sig for a description of my car.
