I want to build a new system with SLI with 6800gt performance. However, almost all the 6800gt pcie cards are either WAY overpriced or out of stock. Do you guys think it is a good idea to buy 2 6600gts in SLI now, then sell them and replace them for a 6800gt when it's cheaper? Or should I just buy the >$475 6800gt pcie when it comes in stock? I will probably upgrade to a 2nd 6800gt in a year or two. Please give me any other suggestions.
 
what about getting 2 GTOs from ebay, do you guys know how that would compare to the 6600GTs and 6800GTs in SLI?
 
That is a tough call. I would guess that the GTO's would land somewhere between a the 6600GT's and the 6800GT's, most likely closer to the 6800GT's. However, most of the 6800GTO's I've seen on ebay are pretty pricey, and unless you get two of them upfront it might be pretty hard to locate the second one a year or so from now.
