i just installed a zalman vf700 vga heatsink on my evga 6800GS agp card
i installed all the ram sinks and the main one and when i plugged everything back in
my lcd doesnt turn on , all it says is Power saving mode on

what could be the problem , i am all out of ideas

Does the card have an extra power pin for it that needs to be reattached? Not familiar w/ that model.

Also, one thing that actually worked for me was to unplug the pc and monitor from the wall for about 10 seconds. Then I plugged in the monitor and turned it on. Gave it a few seconds more and then plugged in and turn on the pc. It worked.... kind of like how you some times have to power cycle the cable modem.

nop still doesnt work , its because everything in my pc is plugged in and everything has power ,
its just that my lcd as soon as my pc turns on all i get is Power Saving Mode and the light turns yellow

My guess: You either tightened the heatsink too much and cracked the core of the video card, you didn't tighten it enough and the card fried, or you didn't put enough thermal paste on and it overheated.

I wouldn't jump to such drastic conclusions.
Does the LCD work with the other video card output? (i.e. if the LCD is connected via DVI, connect it with VGA, or the other way around)

does your motherboard beep when you turn it on with the 6800 in? does the 6800 feel warm if you leave it for a minute? Do you have another machine to test the 6800 in? Have you checked to make sure you properly installed the heatsink?
