Need some advice on my case

Well for about a month or two now I've been thinking of getting a water cooling rig. However my case, Lian-Li 1000B just doesn't seem too work well with it, at least not without any mod. The problem is that I'm afraid the intake fan in the front, will not work efficiently if I place a radiator on it. It would seem that I have to cut the top of my case, so I can put a dual radiator at least for any cooling benefits that I will recieve from water cooling. The problem is I have never mod a case before, and I really don't want to destroy a decent case. I have been thinking of using a Koolance EXOS II, but many said the price doesn't justify its benefit and I can get better result buying parts on my own. Any advice will be appreciated.

I used two 6x8 Aluminum boxes I picked up at frys to mount the radiator in. The rad I used was 12? long so I trimmed down the boxes, drilled 2 120mm fan holes, added a couple holes on the bottom to let air in, screwed in 2 rails for the radiator to rest on. It now sits on top of my case with a couple spacers to allow air to be drawn in from the bottom. End result was a top mount radiator box that looks pretty good. I did it to test the system before I cut up my case, it turned out good enough that I might just leave it as is. It's not a bad first time project, no risk of wreaking your case.

you could get a coolermaster aquagate that fits in 2-3 5.25" drive bays, inside or outside the case. Custom is the best , though, because u can measure out the tubes so it fits the way you like.
