Pro4/E is a superior cad based design program ($6,000 for the foundation package) and this needs to run fairly smooth on the laptop............ Thus it needs the graphics power to push this program.

Basic everything else such as web surfing
A game or 2 if possible (not important though)
Sufficient with other windows based programs
Looking to spend $1,400.-$1,700. max and it needs to have a min of 17" screen.
