Okay, I this guy was selling PS2's through eb@y and his auction was cancelled due to the MOD chips along with the orders. So many of us went through with the deal without eb@y being the middle man. He's been delaying about how the supplier and stuff and all that junk, I for one have heard this from you guys before and don't believe it. It's been going on for about 3 months or so. I paid $430 through paypal but his bank account is unverified. So that means I can't file for fraud protection. I have all this chump's info and stuff. I just called him on the phone and he seems really nervous, some punk kid. I told him how to verify the bank account and all, I told him that he has till the end of the week to verify it and that was the end of the conversation. Now where can I go from here guys?
1. I was thinking of calling Mastercard customer service tomorrow and talking to them.
2. If he does not verify the bank account, I will be calling a lawyer on the situation and take legal action. And sueing him for wasting a college kids time.

Thanks for any input you guys can give me.

How old is the kid who ripped you off?

Maybe you could sue his parents and get more money. Try to get some compensation for the pain and anguish their kids immature behavior caused you :)

Yea, he's underage cuz he said he couldn't drive. I was already intending to sue his parents ;-). Maybe it sounds I'm more like a poor college student looking for money but thas not the point of course. And maybe my *dream system* will be here even faster.

Well I think I tried to get scammed a while back from a young kid as well, I'm not exactly sure if that was his true intention or not, but either way he lived with his mom so I called and spoke with her......she helped me iron things out :)

I plan on doing that on Thursday and demand to talk to his parents. Just that I don't have the time and wanna give him some time to straighten things out himself if he can.

If the parents of this kid are responsible people, they will pay you back your money ($430 is a fair amount) and will deal with their kid on their own.

If I did something like this (when I was younger), my parents would probably ground me for a month and make me work off every penny with physical labour around the house. (Clean the house, cut the grass, gutters on the edge of the roof, etc)

May I suggest you use a look up service on the internet against his address and get his parents names that way (I recommend moms if possible hehe), then just call and as to speak to Kathy, or Cindy, etc. Maybe even have a friend call so he wont recognize your voice and hang up?

Soybomb's got the right idea. Deal w/the parents & give them the option of straightening this out first. Let them know you are to the point of turning this matter over to your credit card company & local authorities.
I experienced my first bad deal not to long ago & filed with all the agencies I could think of, FBI, USPS, Local State Police, Local District Attorney. I also paid through Paypal & the seller was unverified. The FBI asked if I tried to get my money back through Visa. Called my bank, faxed them a letter with all details & had the cash back in my account the same day. The funny thing was they asked why I did all the leg work for Visa. Hang in there you'll get your cash back. :)

Do what you wish, but remember that it's possible, though unlikely, that you wont win and will still be stuck with the lawyer fees. I would do as others have suggested and speak to his parents. Tell them that what happened and they will probably pay you back. If they don't, then threaten to file a law suit. They'd probably agree to pay you then since they will probably lose the suit and still have to pay a lawyer.

:)
