Need some advice on a Western Union money transfer asap

Hi,

So I'm selling my laptop and this guy from Nigeria offers me $1800 shipped for it because he needs it for his daughter's school project and wants me to mail it via USPS EMS 3-5 days. I've mailed via that method before, that's no problem. The thing is that he wants to pay via Western Union Auction Payment. How safe is this? I'm a very active EBayer and have only encountered Western Union once and I shipped after I got the payment. Different scenario here, where he wants me to ship after I get the e-mail confirmation from Western Union. When I get the e-mail confirmation does it guarantee that I get the payment? His offer is really good for my laptop (Compaq Evo N600c), which is why I am asking all of this. I'm e-mailing him back asking him if he can pay via PayPal, hopefully he can pay that way.

I'm an active ebayer, but i'm just wondering what a e-mail confirmation from western union does? 99% of my sales are completed via paypal, just asking for some advice, that's all

You get a bogus email and mail away the item. You are now out the item plus cost of shipping.

paypal is broken and nobody is this stupid

you are hearby awarded no points and assigned 3 days in solitary confinement

ok, guess some things are too good to be true. I know in other countries that people pay a premium for electronics because they aren't as readily available as it is here, that's why I am asking. Thanks for your advice guys, appreciate it.

Well, have fun with him. Tell him to take a picture of himself holding a sign that says ATOT or something 😉
