i would like to get a desktop pc which will handle gaming and media streaming to a big screen and it be water cooled and this all pre assembled or i build it, who has this at a decent price? i have assembled air units before but never a water cooled rig. i welcome all suggestions and advice, pls be kind:). i'm trying to stay within a $1000 to $1200 dollar budget, could go more if i have to, which now that i think about it, i may have to.............my orginal thoughts were to go with these starter moments but i know i would still need more parts to complete my project but here are my initial choices?

i think thats it, as far as i have gotten so far, not found a great "buy me" case yet, or not sure what water cooled situation to go with.........just trying to get some idea's and see what our great minds can come with. oh, by the way, i've not ever posted to this site before, so i would like to say "hi" and i hope everyone is having a great day and thanks in advance to to reading my post. :)

oh, yeah, not pressed for time or anything like that, so i have plenty of time to complete, research, discuss, whatever i need to do to make the right choices for me.

Welcome. :) Some thoughts...

Mobo: Unless you're looking for specific features, I think $200 is overkill.

CPU: I'd go for 3570/K. 3770 isn't worth the extra price.

Memory: Unless you have specific reasons, 8GB is enough. Can upgrade later if needed.

Graphics card: For serious gaming I'd go for a better card. Currently, at least Nvidia 660 or ATI 7850.

PSU: No need for 700W unless you plan on having multiple graphics cards, or do serious overclocking.

yeah, i'm finding out that what i have is overkill, so that's good news. i can run a i5 system with some better stuff and maybe end up saving money but definitely a better running setup. thanks for your reply, i'll let you know what i end up going with. have a great weekend!

There's no need for water cooling. My i5-2500 + GTX 680 is very quiet except during heavy gaming, and during that it's still very reasonable.

I have it in an Antec P280 case with just the stock fans, and a Seasonic X-650 PSU that's more than I need even for the GTX.

Take a look at the $1000 build examples here: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2192841

You're definitely going overboard with the CPU, mobo, and ram. Depending on what kind of gaming you do, you're not spending enough on the GPU.

For heatsink, I like the Thermalright HR-02 MACHO (I have one). Works great fanless* or with the included 140mm fan (very quiet).

*Fanless performance will depend a lot on your case's airflow (in case that's not obvious enough). I have an Antec 900 with three 120mm intake fans in the front and the top 200mm exhaust fan. Adding the 140mm fan on the HR-02 didn't do me much good, so I left that out. My cpu is a Phenom II X4.
