I have to write a report.. about 10 pages about the positive and negative of online gaming.... but which side should I go with? Which one would be the easier one to defend ?

I have to pick a side and argue it..... but at the same time presenting both the negative and positive sides..

with what reasoning can i come to a conclusion as to the correct path to follow between the two?? I'm clueless... i need help.

Positives! Kids learn to kill each other, reduces the population. Also they're not out getting teenage girls pregnant, and conserving resources through reduced caloric requirements.

i mean... i already have some negative and positives figured out... I'm just clueless how i can come to a conclusion saying that one way is more of an effect on gamers than the other?
that's what i was wondering....

Do you have to pick between gaming being bad or good? I would say something like, "Gaming can be a great hobby as long as it does not consume the gamer and interfere with other aspects of life."

The best conclusion should be "moderation in everything."

Online gaming can be fun diversion, in moderation.

that wouldn't be an effective paper... this paper is 25% of my grade..

I don't want to "mugwump"... i need to choose a side of the debate and support it with argument and evidence, etc..

Each plus or minus effect of online gaming has some impact. Judge how much/how important each issue affects the gamer, gamer's family, society. Sum up all the impact values on each side and argue the larger sum.

If this is an academic paper, consider digging here for some interesting tidbits. Might not be right on topic as to good vs. bad, but it's a decent source of academic style writing about online gaming in general.
