Need some advice from OCers

I will be able to upgrade some of my systems components at the end of the month and I'm not sure where to upgrade. I got a 3000+ Winnie and a Chaintech VNF4 mobo doing 9 X 240 which seems to be the most solid OC I can get. Not sure if its the cpu or the mobo limiting me to an OC of 2160 mhz. I understand that the Venice cpus can get to 2.6 ghz relatively easy so I am considering a new cpu but recent reviews including the VNF4 make me doubt its ability to get the most out of it. I was thinking about the 9NPA+ ULTRA as a possible choice since it really seems to be able to OC well and at a good price. Can anyone advise me on their experiences here? Thanks.
