Need some advice about this board. I'm getting ready to build a new system and this is the board I have purchased. (It is in transit from Newegg as I type this) So, I'm doing some research about BIOS updates and I am seeing all kinds of info. Some good and some bad. I'm just trying to figure out which BIOS version I should flash to that is the most stable and any other updates I should do once i get it. CPU I'm going to drop in is i7 2600k SB.

It's been about 5 years since I did my last build and have fallen way behind in all the good stuff (system building tech stuff)...So forgive my noobness that is resurfacing a bit...ha ha

Thanks in advance for your input.

Please..... looking for some guidance....I have looked in this forum and seems like a lot of confusion....Anyone running this board with a BIOS version they are stable with?

Thanks again,

Do not even think about a 3XXX bios, and only do so just before you buy an Ivy Bridge CPU
So the ship bios of 0402 is just fine
Trust me
If it already comes with a 3XXX bios then at least you dont have to worry about a bad flash and all the baggage that comes with that.
I'll take it even one step further
I advise you to buy a bios chip from ASUS E-Store for $15 plus $7 ship. It will come with latest 3402 image
Keep it around for your IB changeover

I don't think you need to do anything. 2600K should be well supported on that board.
