Need some Adobe Illustrator help

I'm sure "fixing" this is simple I'm new to illustrator and so don't know exactly how to go about doing it. I need to cut the spheres off where they intersect with the curved box.

also if you have a trick to make gear more "golden" in vector that would be swell.

This was done in Illustrator CS2 if you need the font list LMK

Can't you just change the vector points so that the remainder of the box connects to the rounded corners?

It's been a while since I've used Illustrator 🙁.

Bah! I know how to do it I think but it will not allow me to open it as my copy of Illustrator is older...version 9

I sent you an email with the file the way you want it (I think).

Bascially, you want to use the shape of the box as a clipping mask. Clipping mask option is under the "Object" menu.

1. Select entire box, no other objects
2. Cut box
3. Paste box in front
4. Select all
5. Select "make clipping mask" under "Object Menu"
6. Assign whatever thickness stroke you want to the box
