Need software to convert CRW files to JPG

My friend took several hundred photos and saved them to CRW (Canon RAW Format). I don't want to install software on every computer I own to view them and would rather convert them to something more common. Are there any programs out there than can mass convert these to something more common, like JPG? As said, I prefer free since this will only happen one time. Thanks!

Must be a Canon camera. They usually come with a CD of their own software and that will do the conversion.

But, good old free IRFANVIEW will also open CRW files and SAVE AS JPG.

Yea, he uses a Canon EOS camera. I checked out Irfanview. It will view them and save them, one at a time. So that will be time prohibitive with a large amount of photos. I'll try the Faststone software, thanks!

In the "file" menu of Irfanview is batch conversion rename. Or just hit "B" when you start the program.

Canon provides a program called Digital Photo Professional. It's a good program.

Or search around for Pixmantec Rawshooter Essentials 2006. It's a freeware raw file processing application....I think Adobe Lightroom was based off it (Adobe bought out Pixmantec prior to releasing Lightroom, IIRC)

Both programs offer batch processing.
