Need software for DVD-RW drive.

So, I ordered a Lite-On DVD-RW drive from Newegg (with Lightscribe) and didn't realize that it does not come with any software at all.

So first I'm wondering if there is any free DVD software that I can use for viewing DVD movies?

Second, is there any free CD/DVD burning software available that not only burns the data but also does Lightscribe? If so, is it as easy to install and use as Roxio or Nero?

Thanks.

i dont know if it does lightscribe (dont think it does) but poweriso is free...they have a paid version too but so far the free version has done what i want so i dont know what the paid version does.

As for playing dvd movies...if you do some searching you can sometimes find the software for $5. I cant remember where i bought it from last time, sorry.

LG and Lite-On normally is shipped with DVD software.
Most likely you'll get PowerDVD with Nero. Usually mixed-in is a bunch of authoring, ripping and playing DVD software. All my LGs had them, so Lite-On most likely too.

#Wait till they arrive. If not, you can download VLC, a free DVD movie playback.

imgburn for burning perhaps?

playing dvds....media player classic...vlc player (my first preference for playing EVERYTHING) ummm...............dunno.....its all good and theres plenty of stuff out there

but i would recomend VLC player as it plays literally everything without needing to install codecs and imgburn.....coz i like it, lol
