Here's the reason
I just bought a new Corsair 1GB stick of memory but it locks up the computer
after a couple hours and it seems to do it only with Star Trek Armada II. I had a 512mb stick just before the upgrade and the computer never locked up. What I want to do is disable the 1gb stick whenever I play Star Trek Armada II so it only uses the 512mb chunk and then hope it will be reliable. Any help would very appreciated.

I think you're looking for RMA if you're sure it is the RAM locking up the PC.

One - make sure that both sticks are the same spped.
Two - as stated above - you have a memory problem either way - return the stick and ensure that you get one with the proper match.

I thought of that but it only does It with Star Trek Armada II, nothing else.
Maybe it's something stupid like the game can't handle a 1gb chunk.

P.S.

Both are definitely the same speed maybe I will have to return it though.

It's much more likely that yout stick has a bad spot, and the game is the only application you are using right now that makes windows use that spot.

www.memtest.org

run a memory test then post again if the stick passes it.

Just got the test done and I have good and bad news.
The memory is ok, well there you go the good and the bad.

Just playing Star Trek Bridge Commander and it locked up again, so it appears
not to to limited to one game.
